Flexi Work

We have all heard about it, and possible wondered what it is and how we could get it to work for our business.

  • With ever-changing technology, and as each generation gets more connected and changes what they want/look for in an employer, as a SME you need to keep up with the big players to keep attracting the appropriate level of talent, and Flexi Work is now an expectation of a lot of the workforce.

    Defining it with words is not really appropriate in my opinion, and doesn’t do the concept justice. The key is to ask what it means to your employees and empower them with the chance the drive how/when to work within certain parameters.

    It can be a big culture change, however the benefits are significant in terms of staff engagement, wellbeing and productivity! Yes, giving people more flexibility if done well can lead to increased productivity, which leads to more $$.

The team behind FWD Thinking

Lachie Boyle

A rural Southland boy at heart, after I completed my education I spent 6 years learning about business in a small two-partner accounting practise in Christchurch. But like most young Kiwis, the big wild world called!

After a brief stint in Melbourne at AIA Insurance, I ventured to London to explore the world. I was also very lucky to secure a great job at World Trade Group, which was at the time the world’s biggest corporate-to-corporate event organiser. World Trade Group were on a significant growth plan from start-up to world leader. Here, I learn a lot about basic business process and how small changes can make a big difference.

After 3.5 years here it was time for some travel and a return home. Following a brief stint at Red Bus, a public bus company in Christchurch, I took an opportunity on a contract at Lion based in Auckland, and ended up staying for 7 years.

I had some amazing career highlights, including being the commercial lead on the creation of Emerson’s spiritual home. Lion taught me the value of people, culture and the importance of clear, strategic direction.

Currently, I am supporting the Export Sales business at Sealord, where I am learning and fully developing my skills that I want to share with your business, and take it forward!
